Our Story
Creating Opportunity Beyond Barriers
Opportunity means more than having a place in the community. It means having the knowledge, confidence, resources, and support to participate fully in everyday life.
Across Wyoming, individuals with disabilities and residents facing challenging circumstances can encounter barriers to developing practical skills, preparing for employment, navigating technology, and accessing educational opportunities.
Wyoming Path & Purpose Foundation was established in Cheyenne, Wyoming, in 2026 with a mission to help address these challenges.
Our foundation grew from a commitment to dignity, independence, and the belief that meaningful opportunities should be accessible to everyone.
Founded with a background in healthcare administration, human services, and disability support, our leadership understands the importance of community inclusion and education that connects directly to everyday life.
We believe that practical learning can open doors. Learning to make informed decisions, prepare for employment, use technology, or participate confidently in the community can make a meaningful difference.
Our foundation brings that belief into focus through charitable education, community collaboration, and the development of programs that strengthen personal independence.
Our purpose is simple: To help create pathways so more people can pursue meaningful opportunities and build the lives they envision.

A Career of Service. A Vision for Opportunity.
Richard Brown Jr. founded Wyoming Path & Purpose Foundation in Cheyenne, Wyoming, in 2026 to help expand educational opportunities, encourage greater independence, and strengthen community participation for individuals with disabilities and underserved populations.
A United States Army veteran and healthcare and human services leader, Richard brings experience spanning direct-support services, special education, residential services, healthcare administration, and organizational leadership.
His professional journey includes supporting students with disabilities as a special education aide, serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities as a Direct Support Professional, and advancing into program and administrative leadership roles at Corpus Christi State Supported Living Center.
These experiences contributed to his understanding of the barriers individuals encounter when seeking opportunities for education, independence, and meaningful community participation.

His community involvement includes service on the City of Cheyenne Mayor’s Council for People with Disabilities and the Board of Directors of Community Action of Laramie County. These are personal civic responsibilities and do not constitute organizational endorsements.
Richard established Wyoming Path & Purpose Foundation around a fundamental belief: meaningful opportunities should not be limited by disability, circumstance, or lack of access to practical education and resources.
His vision is to help build an organization that connects people with knowledge, develops community partnerships, and creates pathways toward greater independence and opportunity.

Our Mission
Our charitable and educational purpose is to promote independence, opportunity, inclusion, and quality of life for people with disabilities, older adults, veterans, low-income households, and other underserved individuals, primarily in Wyoming.
Our educational offerings focus on independent living skills, digital literacy, employment readiness, and community inclusion. Workshops are currently being organized; specific arrangements and schedules will be announced when confirmed.
Our Vision
We envision Wyoming communities where more people have access to learning, can participate in community life, and have meaningful opportunities to pursue their own goals.
That vision invites many kinds of contribution. Educators can bring practical knowledge. Community organizations can help identify needs and opportunities. Volunteers and prospective supporters can contribute time, resources, or ideas as specific initiatives take shape.
Our Values
Dignity and choice
Respect each person’s goals, voice, and decisions.
Accessible learning
Make information understandable and consider different ways people learn and participate.
Practical opportunity
Connect education to useful skills and everyday goals.
Accountability

Help turn purpose into opportunity
Practical education can help people make informed choices, build confidence, and take the next step toward their own goals. Help shape that opportunity by sharing community needs, contributing expertise, or exploring a partnership.
The Foundation is ready to organize its first educational workshops. Support can help coordinate qualified instructors, accessible learning materials, suitable locations, and clear measures of progress. Dates, instructors, locations, and participation details will be announced as arrangements are confirmed.
